The Storm Before the Calm

Vacation is great. I love getting away from my normal four walls and my normal routine. Whether it be to visit family or sightsee or sit on a beach or ski down a slope, I always enjoy it—when I’m there.

It’s the getting ready to go that nearly undoes me.

I’m in that mode at the moment. Suitcases litter the house. The washing machine runs non-stop. Lists beget lists.

It truly is the storm before the calm. I know once we get out the door I will breathe a sigh of relief. Then vacation begins.

Great title for the post! All the getting ready is truly worth it--especially if you are going to the mountains. Have a blessed vacation.

Enjoy. And stagger home refreshed.

The storm is over--we are definitely calmer now. We have visited family and are on our way for some R&R with our boys in NYC. We have tickets to the Yankee game. And while I can't stand the Yankees as a team, I'm very excited to visit "The House that Ruth built" before it gets demolished next year!

D'Ann,
Walk through the monuments. It's a thrill. Glad you're getting to see the stadium before they demolish it. Was it Carley Simons who sang about paving paradise to put up a parking lot?
