You've made some great selections. We actually have something in common. Some of those movies are my favorites, too. By the way, Happy Valentines day to you, too.

Thanks, Dee! It's always fun to connect with people who have similar tastes, isn't it? Glad you stopped by. I'll check out your blog!

You are a "true historic." Mine are from the 80's on up :)

Lol, Lori! I could have put Top Gun on there to cover the 80s! :)

I loved Top Gun. What about The Thorn Birds. Remember that? Huge romantic saga! My husband says Against All Odds.

Oh, I have seen every one of these and love all of them except for two. I wasn't really crazy about Bringing Up Baby. I think I like Cary Grant more when he plays serious roles. The Young Victoria is the other one. I liked it pretty well, but don't think I would put it on my "love" list. I have only seen it once, so might change my mind if I see it again. I did love the A&E mini-series called Victoria and Albert starring Victoria Hamilton (Mrs. Forster in P&P 1995; Henrietta Musgrove in Persuasion 1995) and Jonathan Firth (brother of Colin Firth). That is a wonderful series! Here's the most important question, Anne. Have you seen BBC's North and South based on the book by Elizabeth Gaskell? If you haven't it's a must. You will never think of cotton mills and train stations the same again. I think that film has the most romantic film kiss ever! Sigh!

Hey Sylvia! Good to know we have similar tastes in movies! I confess I have not yet seen North and South, but it is on my list of BBC movies to buy. Guess I need to make that happen!

I confess I do love a screwball romantic comedy--especially with Cary Grant. I could watch him read the phone book and be happy! Maybe it's my love of history that pulls me to The Young Victoria. Whatever it is, I thought the movie extremely romantic. And I can't believe I forgot to put on that list another of my favorites--Casablanca! Such a tribute to sacrificial love.

Hi Anne! Sylvia told me you were hosting a wonderful post about movies and so I came by to second her suggestion that you watch North&South!! I'd never even heard of it till dear readers like Sylvia told me about Johnny and Margaret and - OH MY! It is now at the top of my favorite movies of all time list and I'm afraid it shall never be bumped:) Bless you - and happy viewing!

Thanks, Laura. I'll definitely be getting North and South with such a high recommendation as "at the top of my favorite movies of all time list and I'm afraid it shall never be bumped." Wow!
